Easter Hope

The great gift of Easter is hope -
Christian hope which makes us have
that confidence in God, in His ultimate triumph,
and in His goodness and love, which nothing can shake.
-Basil C. Hume

Wishing you a blessed and happy Easter, and praying that the victory of His empty tomb changes your life, as it has mine.

Easter Box...

I just love Reese's Peanut Butter cups. So, when the holidays roll around and they sell their product in cute little shapes I just have to buy them and of course eat them. However, I thought I best share, cause one only knows that I don't need to scarf the whole box of six down. So, I made up this little treat box slider. What a perfect way to send someone a little something and let them know that I'm thinking about them and wish them a Happy Easter. I used my new goodies I ordered from SU. Like the "Good Egg" Stamp set and then I used DSP from the Tea Party collection. If you would like to make one of your own or maybe a dozen or two, it is very simple.

Start with a piece of CS that measures: 6" x 4" Then score at 3/4" on the 4" side and 3/4", 2-3/4", 3-1/2", 5-1/2" on the 6" side. I glued the side the long side together, then I cut my slits to make the bottom. You should use the "Red" sticky tape to make it stay together, but I was out, so I just used snail adhesive. Easy Peasy and soooo cute!

I think this is my favorite Easter set right now. The little chick just makes me smile. Have a great weekend.

Easter Treats....

Wow! I have wonderful friends. Just look at the treats that I got to help celebrate Easter. I think back to the days that I hated chocolate. Hate chocolate? Really? I know! I use to tell people that it would give me a headache. I think I really thought it did, perhaps it might have. But, I really like it now. I mean really like it. In all shapes, flavors, and forms. So, when friends give me little treats containing chocolate, I get really HAPPY!

Wishing you all a happy and sweet day!

Is Winter Over Yet???

With Spring officially starting on the 20th and today being the 26th, one would only naturally think that the warmer weather would come with it. So, when I'm teased with 5o degree days, and now days that contain cold, snow, and wind. Well, lets just say that I done! I'm so glad that I enjoyed my snowman making a couple weeks ago, because this is what poor frosty would look like at my house as of today.

I don’t know if I can take another day of winter!! I'm so sorry if this picture of poor frosty offended you, but the weather I'm sure is offending me more. Sorry about your luck! I promise not to put anymore violence on my blog. Ha!

Have a good day everyone!

What a Beautiful Spring Weekend...

I just love when the weather starts to warm-up and the snow melts away. I however, do not like the mess it does make. Sometimes we have to deal with pain to gain. I have started taking my dog for walks again. I am trying to get in a few laps down the driveway here and there. It is so much easier now to walk in the evening since daylight savings time. I can't tell you how happy it makes me when the days seem so much longer. I know that a lot of people have a hard time adjusting but I LOVE the change.
Today I went out to enjoy some fresh air and it was just gorgeous, so I made a snowman. It was so much fun. I haven't made one in years. I couldn't get to my coal stash, so I just used wood chips laying around. I came into the house to retrieve his hat and scarf....and boy let me tell you I forgot how bright old Mr. Sun is. I could not see for several minutes. I hope this is a sign that Spring is here to stay.

Frosty didn't stay frosty for long, however. Within in a hour he took a tumble to the ground.

Farewell, snow friend. It sure was fun making you, but it is perfectly okay that you did not stay around. I hope you all had a good weekend. What did you do to enjoy the beautiful weather?

On Monday night my friend Laurie had her first SU workshop. It went great! However, the weather did not cooperate and so four friends were not able to make it. However, she still had a great turn out with seven of us. It was fun! Her workshop was a 5-10-15 class. I had never heard of this. So, for five dollars you could make 5 cards, each taking 10 minutes to make....or get the cards free if you placed a $15 order. What a great concept. Seeings how I like to talk and the people that I sat with like to talk, it did take us a bit longer. Oh, darn! =) Actually all of us would have loved to stay longer, but with the wind howling and the snow coming down, we thought it was a good idea to get home. So, we did not get one project done.

I liked all the cards I made, buy my favorite card of the night was this little guy. We used the Good Egg stamp set. We colored the chick using the blender pen in the So Saffron chalk. Then used the two-way glue pen to add dazzling diamonds glitter to the eggshell. I think he turned out eggsellent cute!

I love Bella Rose paper, so of course I love this card. It was fun bending up the petals from the "Flower, Daisies #2" die. We used a Scor-Pal to add the lines in the leaves. LS had the stuff all cut out for us, what a treat.

This card is so nice and clean looking. Looks simple, but let me tell you I had the hardest time getting the roller to go on evenly. I'm in love with all the trees in the SU catalog. I want all the sets, this one included. This last card is really neat, too. I told you I really liked all the cards. There is something about blue (Bashful Blue) and brown (Chocolate Chip) that just makes me fall in love. The stamp set is called "Illuminations" and I would never have given it a second look in the catty, but using this set changed my mine. Funny how going to workshops will do that for a person. I also like how the layering of card stock provides color and interest.

Well I had a great time and look forward to the next gathering. Oh and you should go to Laurie's blog and write down her recipe for the most amazing dessert she served. It was heavenly. I love making Triffles and eating them more, so I will be enjoying this one often. Have a great day everyone.

How Smart is Your Right Foot?

Give this a try, it’ll bring a smile to your face.

Now, without anyone watching you (they will think you are Crazy) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. (For those of you that are a little slower than others clockwise means to the right!!)

OK, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!! And there’s nothing you can do about it! Yes, this is stupid but hilarious and you will probably try it again and again throughout the day!! Now if you are one of those odd balls who isn’t affected by this - You might want to get yourself checked!!

This is funny, I was at work and a girl made me try this. First off though she had me write the number 6 on paper. Well, that was easy, peasy. However, when she reread it and told me to air write the number, lets say that was a whole different story. Too funny!
