November Card Class

Last night was our November Card class at JaNells. Yvonne and JaNell put together some fabulous cards for us to make. For the first card we used Stampin' Up's new stencils. Have you seen these yet? This was the first for me. I have to admit that at first I was a bit sceptical about them and then Yvonne should us this card. I feel in love with it! We used brushed gold CS for the card and the top of the ornament. I had not used this paper before, so that was a treat for me. I like!

The second card we made was all about Dasher. We used gold ink on this card. I loved the colors on this card. I also loved the the polka-dot grosgrain ribbon. I will have to add this to my ever growing wish list.

Our last card was made using the Merry Moments paper from SU. I felt like a child again, because it reminded me of wallpaper my parents had in their bedroom. It was not the same color, but the print was similar and it had the same soft texture to it. How fun to travel down memory lane. Our second technique we learned was about embossing. We first stamped our image in VersaMark and then we stamped it in Real Red Classic Ink, we finished off by adding clear Embossing Powder and then we set it using the Heat Tool. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

We received the cutest little gift. It was filled with candy corn. Yum! I love the stuff and of course I already ate mine. *)

July Hostess Club/Technique Class

Monday nights class was all about Top Note magic. We covered three techniques, but that doesn't even put a dent in what you can do with this handy dandy little guy. We also used some of the new in colors. At first I was not sure of these colors, I thought they were so bold and bright, but after creating with them...well, all I can say is they certainly have grown on me.
We made three make-n-takes.

This card was made out of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and then Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo CS. We colored the image from the Razzle Dazzle set with the new in color markers. Tied it up with the new Crushed Curry polka-dot ribbon.

I have been wanting to make one of these cute little purses. I just love the color on this one. We used Rich Razzleberry CS and then Patterns Designer Series Paper in Rich Razzleberry. We also used the jumbo eyelets with the crop-a-dile. Easy-peasy! How cute!!!

For the last card we took 1 inch little squares from the Razzleberry Lemonde DSP and glued them down on white CS and then ran it through using the Top Note Die. It was neat to see every one's cards, cause no two cards where alike. I just love my little quilt, I think it turned out fabulous.

We ended the night with yummy fruit pizza and three great projects. I can't wait to make some more purses, I just think they are the bomb diggety dog.

July Church Cards

These are the cards that we made at Tuesday night card class. It had been a couple of months again since I went, so it was fun to see familiar faces and make some awesome cards. Thanks ladies for the fun and festivities. Have a terrific Tuesday!

April Card Club (Church)...

I have not been to church cards since October of last year. So, I thought I best be high-tailing it over there and see what is happening. I'm really glad that I did. We made three cards and one was already made for us. Card club has not meet since December, due to bad weather. It was like a surprise to see what we would be making.

On Monday night my friend Laurie had her first SU workshop. It went great! However, the weather did not cooperate and so four friends were not able to make it. However, she still had a great turn out with seven of us. It was fun! Her workshop was a 5-10-15 class. I had never heard of this. So, for five dollars you could make 5 cards, each taking 10 minutes to make....or get the cards free if you placed a $15 order. What a great concept. Seeings how I like to talk and the people that I sat with like to talk, it did take us a bit longer. Oh, darn! =) Actually all of us would have loved to stay longer, but with the wind howling and the snow coming down, we thought it was a good idea to get home. So, we did not get one project done.

I liked all the cards I made, buy my favorite card of the night was this little guy. We used the Good Egg stamp set. We colored the chick using the blender pen in the So Saffron chalk. Then used the two-way glue pen to add dazzling diamonds glitter to the eggshell. I think he turned out eggsellent cute!

I love Bella Rose paper, so of course I love this card. It was fun bending up the petals from the "Flower, Daisies #2" die. We used a Scor-Pal to add the lines in the leaves. LS had the stuff all cut out for us, what a treat.

This card is so nice and clean looking. Looks simple, but let me tell you I had the hardest time getting the roller to go on evenly. I'm in love with all the trees in the SU catalog. I want all the sets, this one included. This last card is really neat, too. I told you I really liked all the cards. There is something about blue (Bashful Blue) and brown (Chocolate Chip) that just makes me fall in love. The stamp set is called "Illuminations" and I would never have given it a second look in the catty, but using this set changed my mine. Funny how going to workshops will do that for a person. I also like how the layering of card stock provides color and interest.

Well I had a great time and look forward to the next gathering. Oh and you should go to Laurie's blog and write down her recipe for the most amazing dessert she served. It was heavenly. I love making Triffles and eating them more, so I will be enjoying this one often. Have a great day everyone.

January Techniques Class

Yesterday I went to JaNell's SU workshop. The new technique we learned was "faux silk" super easy. Have you tried this? All you need to do is take a piece of tissue paper, stamp your image and crinkle the tissue paper up into a ball. Next, take your tissue paper and open it up and smooth it out. You are now ready to glue it to your paper. I was very excited because JaNell had found my new favorite glue stick. Scotch has made a glue stick called "Wrinkle-free" and it is awesome. It comes in a pack of two. I bought mine at Wal-mart for under $2.50. Look for it next time you go shopping, you won't be disappointed, I promise.

On this card we got to use SU "Valentine's Bundle" which I really like. The paper is from the pack called "Candy Lane" the colors and patterns all coordinate so nicely.

I liked all the things I made, but this little guy is just to cute. It looks like a 3x3 card, but really it is a treat holder. Yum! Chocolate! Okay, so if you would like to make one all you have to do is cut your paper 3" by 9" and then score at 3" and 6". Use a 1 3/8" circle punch to make your hole, so your treat can show through. We used yummy Dove caramel milk chocolate candies. We punched (scallop) out a piece of designer paper from the "Candy Lane" to put behind the candy. We did something different on the outside. We used two dimensionals at the very top of the Love stamped piece of paper, so that the ribbon can slide underneath it. I can't wait to make more of these. So cute and easy peasy. Love it!

Our free gift was this adorable Kit Kat bar. It was all wrapped up in "Bella Rose" designer series paper. Finished off with ribbon and "Love you Much" stamp, punched out. Super cute! Thanks JaNelle for another fun evening with friends and new SU products.

November Techniques Class...

Last nights class was titled "Surprise Class of the Year" and it lived up to its title. The first person who came into the stamp room received the cutest little Santa that Yvonne made using the Big Shot. Audrey (first order) and Gail (drove alone)also received one. Santa was made using the scallop die for his beard and the pillow box die as the backing/hat/holder for the treats. He was just adorable, and I'm sad that my picture did not turn out better.



We made three Christmas cards, which I adore. The first one we made was using the "Top Note Die". I love this die, you can use it for so many things. We embellished it with a felt flurry, rhinestone brad and the new Riding Hood Red ribbon. Love it! Of course, I had to buy some of that ribbon...I just like it.



The second card used some of the new Ski Slope DS Paper. We stamped our image onto Craft paper. I have never used SU craft paper, but I really liked it. I just love the color combination of this card. The picture looks so inviting.



The last card is very professional looking. All of us, just loved it. More Ski Slope DS paper and the tree is from the Snow Swirled set. I added some stickles to my card when I got home, so it glistens ever so gently. We also used the Cuttlebug on the envelope flap, what a neat idea.



Lastly, this cute little sour cream container contains M&M's. Yum, chocolate! The container is made out of vellum card stock. The tree is the same tree as the card above, but is embossed in silver powder. This picture does not do justice either, sorry.



I had another fabulous night, thanks ladies for all that you do. Job well done!

Stamp Camp....

What a fun time I had the last two days. A group of us ladies got together to stamp, or as Peg's husband related to it as a "hen party", I just love that. I will have to remember that saying and start using it. We started out at school for a craft fair. I just love the sounds, aromas, lights and of course the vendors. I think this is my switch that gets turned on and says "lets get into the Christmas spirit". After partaking in the craft fair, we headed over to the old Sew-n-Sew building to begin our camp experience. Waiting for each of us was an adorable bag of goodies Peg made for us.



Inside my bag was chocolate, Kleenex, paper, and card candy...and of course all decorated so cute with the help from her Cricut. Way to go Peg, you ROCK!

I took a few pictures of different projects made by camp attendees. First, I would like to say that Diane, should receive an award for "most productive". Just look at all she did. Just amazing! Way to go Diane!





I did not get a chance to take a picture of Laurie's or Audrey's goodies that they made. However, they also deserve an award. AC you should get an award for "going home the most and bringing back stuff" and LS you should get an award for "bringing the most stuff and all the stuff everyone wants to use (or at least me =o)". Thanks for letting me use your stuff ladies. I appreciate your willingness to help a girl out.

I made a few projects and started a bunch more. My award should be for "starting something and then stopping and starting something new" =) Here is some pictures of the goodies that I made. I want to make more stocking boxes to put little trinkets that I have picked up for different kids. I think this will work perfect.








The last picture I have to share with you all is what Judy made. She gets the award for "thinking outside the box". She used different colors than the rest of us, and the outcome was fabulous. This holder would work great for hot chocolate or cider. Very cute!



So, thanks again Peg for all the fun and festivities! You definitely get the award for "best hostess in town".

October Techniques Class...

On Monday night I went to a Stampin' Up! Techniques class at Demonstrator JaNell's beautiful home. We made four make-n-takes. The techniques covered were: Die cut masking and Faux diamond dust. We also got to use the new Big Shot. It was a lot of fun. JaNell and her mom Yvonne are awesome, not to mention very creative. You ladies rock! However, I have to admit even though the cards are always wonderful-its the chocolate with the clever packaging that keeps me coming back. LOL This month they gave each of us a owl treat bag made with the top note die. Isn't he a HOOT?



All four cards were fun to make. The card with the scallop was embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. This technique/card was probably the most fun for me, just because it contained shine. It sparkles just like if you use glitter, but with less mess. On the card with the Upsa Daisy stamp, we used the rubber left over after you punch out the image. What a perfect way to add color in a controlled manner. The card that is I think More Mustard(?) was stamped with Seasons of Friendship set. The last card is a gift card holder. What a neat idea. I would love to make some of these and hang on my Christmas tree this season.





I had a wonderful evening playing with paper and learning new techniques. Thanks ladies! Thanks LS for driving and making wonderful treats for all of us to enjoy. It was all delish!

October Card Club

Can you believe another month has flown by? Yep, it was card club night again. I always look forward to going to card club to see how the ladies use their creative juices. We had another great line up.


The creator of this card was Peg. She utilized her Cricut machine to the max for this cute double pocket card. I think she must have cute from sunup to sundown for a month straight. Way to go the extra mile, Peg. You rock! It is so fun to pick out card candy. Don't look to close to my card, cause you will see black ink everywhere, including the twine. Boy, I was having a bad ink day. I guess it is better than having a bad hair day. LOL

The creator of this card was Nancy. I’m not sure of the color of card stock we used but I like the colors together. What a great idea to incorporate flowers. The flowers are very dainty and fragile, so I will have to hand deliver this card. What a lucky recipient.

The creator of this card was Sharon. This card was really fun. For two reasons, the first was I have never used daubers and ink. I really enjoyed it and would like to invest in some. The second reason I really liked this card was because it was a window card. I have never made one of those before. However, I really can’t take a 100% credit, because Sharon already punched the windows out for us. What a nice lady. I also really like the stamp we used. What a great fall barn scene.

The creator of this card was the other Sharon. The Sharon’s are sister-in-laws and so they have the same name. I think that is funny, cause we always have to refer to them as Sharon and the other Sharon. So anyways, we had three different colors to choose from. They were Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and Pink (perhaps Pink Pirouette) the new In Colors from SU. So as you can see I choose Kiwi Kiss. First time trying it out. It’s a great color to work with. Once again I got black ink all over my card, so don’t look to close. I had trouble getting the ink to dry on the twill tape, but I did get it on there without to much complication. I really like using Prima flowers on cards they add so much.

The creator of this card was Audrey. I love pumpkins and punches so naturally I love this card. Audrey had already had the small and large oval’s punched out for us. So we just sponged the edges to add dimension and then glued them together. The candy corn strip is from the fall pack of Debbie Mumm paper. Then we tied ribbon on a cute clip. I love these clips. Really cute.
I had a great time once again and I’m already looking forward to next month. Speaking of next month we will be doing the Christmas card exchange, so I better hurry and think up of a card. Have a good day.

Mummy...

Its almost that time of year for little ghosts and goblins to pay you a visit for some sweet treats. I have to admit I get a little jealous around this time of year. Only because I'm not little enough to adorn a cute little costume and beg for candy. LOL! So, in preparation of the holiday coming up, I thought I would make a cute little card. This little mummy is all bandaged up in Very Vanilla paper and then I added brown chalk to help his bandages look old and aged. I made the eyes with two circle punches--1" and 1/2". I then adhered my mummy to my card base, which is Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Perfect Plum. Now isn't that one cute mummy?

Just Chillin...

I thought this cute little penguin was perfect for posting today. He is "Just Chillin" and that is exactly what I was doing for the 1st half of the day today. I have the hardest time trying to understand how it was 90 degrees on Monday with a huge amount of humidity and then the next three days of the week, have been in the low 60's. Oh, well.

Back to Mr. Penguin I have to tell you a secret. Come closer, a little closer, that's good. Don't tell anyone but I have a thing for penguins. In fact I just LOVE them. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it is because they are so fluffy looking. I think I know a thing or two about that. I colored him with colored pencils and gamsol. Oh, and look at that Debbie Mumm paper. Love it! You may not be able to see it, but the littlest penguins have sparkly scarves on. So, it only made sense to give my guy a sparkly scarf, too. It's only fair. I used paper that I got from a garage sale and have a ton of. I really like it. The stamp was also purchased at the garage sale.

I carry my camera to the mailbox, cause I'm hoping to catch the prehistoric looking mammoth birds in the field one of these days. No luck so far, but at least I got this little guy. He decided once I opened my door to the house to fly off. So where ever you are "have a nice flight".
